Portfolio Newsletter

Bit of site news. I recently added an option to the Subscribe page to sign up for a weekly newsletter which includes all the previous week's posts from the Portfolio blog.  This will be delivered every Saturday morning around 6:00 AM and will include links to each post. This is what a sample newsletter will look like.

Portfolio on Apple News

Today I submitted the Portfolio to be included in Apple News when it's released with iOS 9 this fall. After doing much research and reading about the Apple News program I am happy to have my content included in the news app. I hope this allows my website to be discovered by more iOS users and get in the hands of a new audience. 

As of right now the RSS feed is connected to Apple News but in the future I will be able to submit my content in the Apple News Format.  The Apple News Format will provide an overall better experience than RSS with some of the advantages including:

• Stunning content, authored and optimized for all iOS devices
• Faster content rendering
• Beautifully crafted layouts with custom typography, photo galleries, videos and animations
• Ability to connect existing content management systems to News
• Rich tools for measuring user engagement

I'd be curious to hear what you think of the channel once it appears in News once iOS 9 is released. I'll update you once it happens. Enjoy.

Welcome to the blog section of my portfolio.  

The main part of this website is dedicated to my own photography that I take around the country. Full disclosure:  I'm a huge technology dork as well.  I will be using the blog section of this website to post entries that I find interesting.  This could range from my own thoughts that I put into blog posts or linking to interesting items I find on the web.
