Reeder 3 - Mac Public Beta Now Available

My favorite RSS client for OS X, Reeder, is available today in Public Beta 3.  It's available for anyone to download but keep in mind it is a beta and has some missing functionality. Some of the new key features include:

  • More themes

  • Updated UI - OS X Yosemite

  • Unread and starred counts for smart folders

  • Private browsing support

Reeder supports Feedbin, Feedly, Feed Wrangler, FeedHQ, Newsblur, The Old Reader, and a whole lot more. Check out the full list of new features here along with a download link.

Apple Music in iOS 9 gets a much-needed redesign

Details coming out regarding changes to Apple Music in iOS 9's recent beta seed from Macworld...

The most drastic change to Apple Music in iOS 9 is the redesign of the More Options menu that can be accessed by clicking on the ellipses (...) next to each song. In iOS 8.4, this More Options menu was just a long list of options—pretty overwhelming, especially when listening to music on the go. Tapping it surfaced no fewer than 10 options for each song, and that didn’t even include the hidden-but-basic functions to View in Album or View Artist.

A Cautiously Optimistic Look at the 2015 Miami Dolphins

I love the Miami Dolphins.  Probably a bit too much.  I've been kicked in the nether regions too many times by the Miami Dolphins. After what seemed like a promising offseason I'm cautiously excited about the upcoming season. I wish I could write about the Miami Dolphins but I just don't have the energy. A good buddy of mine penned an excellent outlook on the 2015 Miami Dolphins for Phins or Die. Check it out.

Interesting Links

It's Friday.  It's time to take a look back at the week that was and share the interesting links I found around the web.  Enjoy.

  • Your Old Droog dropped a new EP this week. Nah Right has the stream. You can also add it to your music collection via Apple Music here.

  • Apple Music is under some scrutiny this week over antitrust issues. Of course Al Franken had to throw his hat into the ring as well. 9to5Mac has the coverage.

  • In what may be my favorite find of the week comes this Tumblr account, Straight Outta Cooperstown which does a mashup of Hall of Famers from baseball and hip hop.

  • Apple announced their Back to School program. Free Beats Solo2 headphones with a purchase of a Mac. Don't complain about free crappy headphones. Sell them on eBay.

  • Eminem visited Sway in the Morning and dropped a 8 minute freestyle. Rap Genius has the lyrics up with partial annotations.

  • iMore has put together The Ultimate Guide to troubleshooting Apple Music. Turns out this will be available in iBook format soon.

  • Apple's quarterly earnings came out this week with mixed results. Macworld has some great coverage on the topic with graphs and transcripts.

  • I'm a TV fan. Which American isn't? I like tracking my shows and keeping up to date on the latest episodes. iShows has always been my goto app for tracking. I've been testing the beta of iShows 2 for months now. It was released today and Macstories, as always, has an in-depth review.
